(pattern for the 3-D bow ties above)

Magic binding by Lorri Cummings

(this one showing how she makes bias binding with different colors/fabrics)

Tips and tricks by Carlene Riggs

Demoing the hot iron cover. Fabric on the outside,
Insul-brite on the inside so you can store a hot iron in it.
Buttons on the end to keep it from falling out.

Showing use of old fabric bolts, cover with Insul-brite, warm and natural cotton batting and silver ironing board covering material and you have a light weight, portable ironing board.

Or cover a wooden TV tray with the same material for a larger or more stable ironing board.
(She stapled the material to the back side of the table.)

Long zippers,

Mesh bags for cords, shirts, socks, etc. for traveling.

Start with fabric

Sew zipper on one side (see instructions)

then sew on other side, makes a packet

Be sure to have the zipper 1/2 open before sewing the ends.
Measure

cut corners out

Can sew handles on the sides or bottom and then sew into the end seams.
(Note the blue ones has a small tab right below the zipper to hold onto.)

Ok, one more time. but see instructions above.
(Note this is a directional print.  The seam on the bottom is so that both sides have the birds standing up. This step is not necessary if the fabric is not directional.)

(Be sure to add straps in desired locations before sewing bottom or end seams. That step is not shown very well here.)
