UVQG Service Day

Quilter Highlight: Marie Haws
Marie earned her Associates Degree in Apparel Design and that began her long love of all things fabric! She has been quilting since 1995 and joined UVQG in 2010. Today, her favorite thing to do is machine embroidery. She has learned how to "applique" using machine embroidery to attach the pieces and how to digitize art into something that can be embroidered. But more impressive, she is using machine embroidery to craft a "Dear Jane" quilt and the blocks, rather than being pieced, are created with the embroidery. Look for that (knock on wood) in the upcoming Springville Quilt Show! Marie won an honorable mention in the "Road to California" quilt show and has won a blue ribbon at the Springville Quilt Show.
